Interview with Mr. Aikawa, Director of SOC Corporation, is featured in NIKKEI Mobility

On June 18, 2025, NIKKEI Mobility featured an interview with Mr. Tetsuro Aikawa, Director of SOC Corporation, on the topic of EVs.

The interview is titled “Former President of Mitsubishi Motors, Aikawa: Japan should dash forward to catch up with BYD through collaboration.”

During his time at Mitsubishi Motors, Mr. Aikawa developed the i-MiEV, the world’s first mass-produced EV. Based on his experience promoting the value of EVs in Japan and other countries, including major European countries, Iceland and New Zealand, which are all promoting carbon neutrality, he passionately discusses the future path for EV expansion in the Japanese market from various angles.

Mr. Aikawa was inducted into the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame in November 2023 as a “pioneer in the development of mass-produced EVs equipped with lithium-ion batteries.”
